Darrell Jay Smith

Darrell Jay Smith (Jay-Bird) 62, of Climax, North Carolina went home to Jesus on January 28, 2025.

Darrell was born in Guilford County on March 10, 1962 to James William and Edith Clara Smith. 

He was a gifted musician who loved life, loved to laugh, loved animals, loved to fish, and was 'a jack of all trades.'

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary K. Garner, and three brothers, Tommy Kirkman, Jerry Kirkman, and his twin brother, Harold Smith. 

Left to mourn his passing are two brothers, James (Jimmy) William Smith Jr,. and Robert Kirkman, as well as two sisters, Janet K. Goodman and Martha S. Martin. 

In addition, Darrell is survived by Patty Brammer,  a faithful companion of 25+ years.

He had numerous nieces and nephews that loved him. He will be dearly missed, To know him was to love him.
