Howard “Buck” Cornelius Truitt, 77, of Elon passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022, at his home in Elon, surrounded by family and friends.
Buck was born on September 1, 1945 in Ossipee, NC. He was the husband of 47 years to the late Judy Anne (Moize) Truitt.
Buck, who was a very humble man, devoted his life to family, friends, and farming for 50 years at Reedy Fork Organic Farm in Elon. Buck enjoyed vintage car shows with his brothers, riding motorcycles with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are three brothers, Curtis Truitt, Clyde Truitt, and Doug Truitt all of Burlington, NC; one sister, Sue Ragan of Burlington, NC; step son, Jerry Skenes of Greensboro, NC; step daughter, Aline “Scooter” Goodman of Emerald Isle, NC; 9 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ollie Truitt; brothers, Bobby Truitt and Thomas Truitt; sisters, Betty Cox, Virginia Satterfield, and Sarah Garrison; step son, Howard Skenes; step daughter, Laurie Coble; and wife, Judy Truitt.
A graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, NC by Pastor Olin Tatum.
The family will receive friends and family at 2242 Fann Trail, Elon, NC.
