Worth Ray Allred

Worth "Ray" Allred, 87, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family, on October 22,2024.

He attended Pleasant Garden High School and was a proud entrepreneur in the construction industry, and a master at everything he did, including tile cutting, landscaping, general contracting, and farming. His pride and joy was the beautiful home that he designed and built, along with his multiacre farm.

Ray was world-renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion, and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even, if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. Everyone always knew where you stood with him.  He liked you or he didn’t, it was black or white. His opinion was fact and he was set in his ways. 

He leaves behind a very loving family that he was proud of.

He will be sorely missed and survived by his siblings, Roy Allred, Evonne Allred Parks, Margaret Allred Royal, and Brenda Allred Barwick; daughter, Karen Allred; step daughter, Cindy Purcell; granddaughters, Jenniferlynn Garcetti, Crystal Purcell; as well as countless nieces and nephews. He especially loved all the "littles" (his nieces and nephews) that frequently visited the farm. 

Lastly, his dearest friends, The Hiatt and Rayle families and his favorite cow, Pepper. 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Worth & Mary Allred; son, Robert Ray Allred; and great-granddaughter, Gabriella "Bella" Counts. 

The family would like to thank Hospice of Randolph County for the excellent care given to Ray. 

All whom loved him dearly will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, and undying love for them and his community. 

A graveside service will be held in the Memorial Garden at Bethlehem Methodist Church at 3pm on Sunday, October 27, 2024 with Reverend Joseph Fulk, III officiating. 

Visitation will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethlehem Methodist Church Camp Meeting Fund.
